Frequently asked questions

The Nabin Odisha Magic Card is an innovative program by the Odisha Government to improve education and make it fair for all students in the state. It's not just an ID card; it's a way to recognize and reward students for their achievements and participation in school and outside activities. This card helps students by giving them access to educational resources, opportunities for personal and professional development, and various benefits based on their performance.

The Nabin Odisha Magic Card will initially be available to students pursuing general undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses (non-technical) from various government, aided, and private institutions that admit students through the SAMS portal. However, the coverage of students and the courses offered can be expanded in the future based on requirements. The decision to expand will be taken by the State Level Monitoring Committee, chaired by the Development Commissioner. This approach allows for flexibility and adaptability in including more students under the scheme as needed.

The Nabin Odisha Magic Card works by rewarding students with points for their school work, behavior, and participation in extra activities, including helping in the community. Based on these points, students can earn Silver, Gold, or Platinum cards, which come with different benefits like discounts on travel, phone recharges, access to online courses, and more. The more you achieve, the more benefits you get. This card helps students focus on doing well in school and beyond, offering financial help and other perks to support their education and future goals.

The benefits of the Nabin Odisha Magic Card include access to various facilities and opportunities based on academic achievements, extracurricular participation, and community work. These benefits range from travel concessions, phone and data recharges, Wi-Fi access, e-libraries, online academic courses, personality development workshops, coaching classes, skill development courses, career counseling, language courses, "Earn While You Learn" opportunities, volunteering options, access to stadiums for national and international tournaments, journals, seminars, tourist places, and museums. Additionally, the card offers job and placement opportunities through a platform similar to LinkedIn, integrating with the startup ecosystem to encourage entrepreneurship and provide priority loans under schemes like Swayam. The government also engages with the private sector to enhance these benefits, making the card a comprehensive tool for youth engagement and empowerment.
